A Delaware library card can be used any public library in the state!

Digital Cards:

You can sign up online to gain immediate access to online materials such as eBooks and databases!
Apply for a digital library card (Convert your digital library card to a full account at a later time).

Want more? Get a full access library card. Fill out a Sussex County Library Registration Form. Bring the completed form into the library along with a photo ID to receive a physical library card.*

*NOTICE – Due to COVID-19:

The process of obtaining a library card for residents and non-resident property owners has temporarily changed.

If you live in Delaware:

  1. Apply for a digital library card, which gives access to databases, eBooks and other electronic resources.
  2. If you wish to have a physical card, apply for the online card, then place a physical item on hold using the Delaware Library Catalog.
  3. When your item is available, you will receive a phone, email, or text message notification.
  4. Call the library and we will schedule you an appointment to pick up your book and convert your digital card to a physical library card. Physical library cards can be used for online materials as well.
