Do I have to have my library card with me each time I visit the library?
You must have your library card or your photo ID to use the computers or take out anything from the library.  You do not need your card to use materials inside the library or attend programs. Get the Delaware Libraries Mobile app and you can use your digital library card!

How and when do I renew my library card?
Just present your library card and photo ID to a library staffer during your next library visit.  Cards need renewal every year.  All outstanding fines and fees must be paid before renewal.

How long can I keep library materials?
DVDs may be borrowed for one week.  Most other library materials have a lending period of 3 weeks, including books, audios, music and magazines.   Some materials may have a shortened loan period due to high demand.

Where can I return my Delaware library books?
You may return Delaware public library books to any public library within the state of Delaware.  We will make sure that materials get back to their proper home.  The South Coastal Library has two outside drop-off slots near the front entrance, one for books and one for audio-visual materials.

What if my items are overdue or lost?
