Expanding Hours

South Coastal Library is proud to be expanding operating hours starting May 24, 2021. Come in and visit us, we’ve missed you! Public computer reservations are accepted again and there are expanded hours for browsing our collections and using the building!

To take a step forward in providing additional access to information and library services, we need your help to ensure the safety of all:

  • On-site temperature screenings are required of all visitors over the age of five. This is in accordance with Sussex County government safety protocols.
  • Hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes are made available throughout the library.
  • Please continue to practice social distancing.
  • Organizational regulations on face coverings are subject to change with State of Delaware mandates, Sussex County Government protocols and CDC findings. Currently, as of 5/21/21, a face covering is optional as long as social distancing of three feet can be achieved.

Thank you for letting us serve you while keeping your community safe.

Our current hours for browsing, picking up holds, using the computers and coming into the building are (starting 5/24/21):

Monday – Thur. | 10 am to 6 pm
Friday & Saturday | 10 am – 3 pm

Need contactless pickup of materials? Call us and we will be glad to assist. (302)858-5518

Please note:

  • Due to COVID-19 restrictions, and out of an abundance of caution, we are not offering inside library programs at this time. Please connect with us safely online via Zoom or join us for a socially distanced outside library program. Find events on our calendar!
  • Meeting room reservations are not accepted at this time. We look forward to serving you in the future.
  • Study rooms are now available and must be reserved at the front circulation desk.
  • Computer appointments are no longer required – computers on a first-come, first-serve basis.
